Tales of popes
A sanctified collection
From the first century AD to the present day, 266 bishops of Rome and subsequently popes (from the 4th century onwards) have succeeded one another as the head of the Roman Catholic Church: from Saint Peter and his keys to the Jesuit Francis, from the shortest to the longest reigns, from reforms to conflicts, from exiles to returns to Rome, tales of popes on coins.
Of these 266 figures, we have compiled for you 64 numismatic testimonies to their pontificate: bulls, ancient coins, medals, and other decorations classified in chronological order retrace here the 21 centuries of this often epic papal history.
P.S.: Some of these articles are no longer available due to their rarity. If you are interested in acquiring them, please don’t hesitate to ask our experts for help finding an item.
